Why use rechargeable batteries?
If you want to save time and money plus have battery power where and when you need it, Energizer rechargeable batteries are just what you need. Energizer Rechargeables delivers excellent performance that you can recharge over and over again so you'll never need to run to the shops for new batteries again.

How do I know which rechargeable battery to use for my device? What is "capacity"?
The more energy your device requires, the higher performing the battery needs to be. The "capacity" (shown as mAh) determines the 'run-time' of the battery. So, the higher the mAh, the more run-time you will get from your device. Typically, 2450 mAh AA batteries would allow you to take as many as 320 photos in typical use. If you were to buy 1300 mAh batteries, they would typically only take 170 photos.

How long do the batteries last?
If looked after properly under normal operating conditions, all Energizer rechargeable batteries can be charged hundreds of times. However there is a relation between the capacity of the cell and the number of cycles it can be charged - the higher the capacity, the lower the cycle life.
NiMH rechargeable batteries get also discharged during storage and will not be full for the first use, the average discharge rate of a NiMH varies considerably by battery; best Energizer 2450 AA now holds up to 70% at 6 months

Top 7 tips for looking after your rechargeable batteries

  1. Always charge your batteries before the first use. The batteries get discharged during storage and will not be full for the first use.
  2. Never mix rechargeable batteries of different brand and mAh capacity in your device and charger.
  3. Never try to recharge alkaline, carbon zinc or even lithium batteries. Only NiMH batteries can be recharged safely.
  4. Rechargeable batteries always get warm during the charging process. Always keep them away from the reach of children.
  5. NiMH batteries don't need to be completely discharged before recharging. Only older NiCd batteries do as they have a memory effect.
  6. Rechargeable batteries will gradually lose their charge even if they are not in use.
  7. Always check if the charger can charge the chemistry of your rechargeable battery. Whilst a charger may be able to charge another chemistry battery, it can damage the battery and reduce the number of charging cycles of your battery if it is not designed for the specific chemistry.
